Akwa United not giving up on NPFL title - Chikwelu

The Promise Keepers sit 12 points behind the NPFL leaders but the midfielder insists they are can still go for the top prize
Chigozie Chikwelu believes Akwa United can still mount for a title challenge in the Nigeria Professional Football League title.
The Uyo outfit are 11th in the topflight log, 12 points adrift leaders Plateau United, but still have an outstanding of two matches.
"The league has got to an important stage where teams can't afford to go off form or lose concentration," Chikwelu told Goal.
"The team that secure more wins at this stage will become champions, we know that we can't afford to just drop points at this stage.
"We are still within range to becoming champions and we are completely focused.
"The league is very competitive so we want to be consistent by picking up points. We want to win every of our remaining matches.
"That's what will set us at a different level.  It's just 14 matches to go till the end of the season,  that means every team has 42 points available to pick from so if we can consistently pick up more then we shall end the season with something very good."
