Drogba, who signed for the side in April, is part of the club's ownership group and scored just 40 minutes into his debut to give his side a 1-0 lead over Whitecaps 2, the USL side of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
It was a classic finish from the Ivory Coast legend, rising above his defender and powering home a header.
Just in case that goal wasn't enough of a blast from the past, the second from Phoenix on the night was set up by Drogba, who played in former Chelsea teammate Shaun Wright-Phillips for what would prove to be the winner.
